As a SCITT tutor, you will have an important role in providing support and professional guidance for trainees. Your role is instrumental in the assessment of the trainees and in the Quality Assurance of their training to monitor consistency of mentoring and accuracy of assessment across the Partnership. You would be required to visit a trainee 3 times in the training year to observe them teach and provide feedback and assessment of their teaching. We are seeking highly motivated, self-reliant individuals who have excellent communication skills and will be excellent ambassadors for EAST SCITT.
Skills and experience
A SCITT tutor needs to have a proven track record of developing the performance of teachers, including school ITT mentoring or provider tutoring; a proven track record of working with other teachers to develop their practice and therefore positively influenced the progress of other groups of students and knowledge of the Initial Teacher Training (ITT): criteria and supporting advice document (currently March 2020) and current inspection requirements.
